Worker app: how to use it in Spanish (Español)

How to switch the ClippingCash worker app between English and Spanish, on the sign-in screen or in Settings, what changes, what stays the same, and how the phone's own language is used. Cómo cambiar la app a español.

The worker app speaks English and Spanish. The app’s own screens, buttons and messages all have a Spanish version, so a crew member who reads Spanish more comfortably can run the whole day in it. The choice is made on each person’s own phone, and it does not change anything for anyone else on the team.

Para cambiar la app a español: en la pantalla de inicio de sesión toque Español, o abra Configuración y elija Español en Idioma.

1 Switch on the sign-in screen

Above the login form there is a three-way switch in the top right corner with Phone, English and Español. (Phone is the short form of Phone language, so three choices fit on a small phone.) Tap one and the whole screen changes at once, with no restart. This is the easiest place to do it for a new crew member, because they can pick Spanish before they read anything else.

2 Switch later in Settings

Once you are signed in, tap the gear icon at the top of the jobs list to open Settings. Under the Language heading, the Language row has a menu with the same three choices, where the first one reads Phone language in full. Pick one and the app changes straight away.

In Spanish the same places are called Configuración and Idioma, and the choices read Idioma del teléfono, English and Español. On the sign-in screen the first choice is shortened to Teléfono.

3 What Phone, English and Español mean

  • Phone (Phone language in Settings, and the default) follows the language of the phone itself. If the phone is set to Spanish, the app is in Spanish. If the phone is set to anything else, the app is in English, because English and Spanish are the two languages the app has.
  • English and Español ignore the phone’s language and always use the one you picked.

The app remembers the choice on that phone, including after you close it and open it again. If you want a crew member’s app in Spanish no matter what the phone is set to, pick Español rather than leaving it on Phone.

4 What changes and what does not

The words the app writes itself are translated: buttons, labels, banners and error messages. For example Record Customer Payment becomes Registrar pago del cliente, Offline becomes Sin conexión, Not synced becomes Sin sincronizar and Time clock becomes Reloj checador.

Things that are not the app’s own words show as they were entered. A customer’s name, an address, a job note someone typed, a service name and the customer’s texts stay in whatever language they were written in. A few messages that come from the server, or from the phone’s own permission pop-ups, may still show in English for now.

The language is a setting for that one phone. It does not change the office’s dashboard or anyone else’s app.

Good to know

  • You can switch back and forth as often as you like.
  • If someone picks a language by mistake and cannot read the screen, the sign-in switch always shows the names English and Español as they are written in those languages, and the gear icon in the top bar of the jobs list opens Settings in either language.
  • For the rest of the sign-in screen, see Worker app: how to sign in and set a PIN.
