Scheduling and routing

How to dispatch today's route from your phone

Run the day from the ClippingCash owner app: see today's stops in order, drag to reorder, optimize the driving order, and tap through to any job.

The owner app puts today’s route in your pocket. This is the screen to open when you are standing in the yard at 6am deciding what order the day runs in.

1 Open Route

In the owner app, go to Route. You get today’s jobs as a numbered list, in the order they are set to run.

Each stop shows a numbered circle for its position in the route, then the customer name, the service, the address, and a time if that job is set to an exact time rather than being an anytime job.

Each card also carries its status: Scheduled, In progress, or Unscheduled.

If nothing is on today you get No route jobs for today and a nudge to schedule jobs to see them here. That empty state usually means the jobs exist on another date, not that they are missing.

2 Drag to reorder

The list is drag-and-drop. Press the drag handle on a card and move it up or down, and the numbered positions renumber to match. The new order is the route order.

Reorder by hand when you know something the software does not: a customer who is only home after ten, a gate that gets locked at noon, a street that is impossible during school run.

3 Or let it optimize

Tap Optimize in the top bar and ClippingCash reorders the day’s stops for less driving. It uses each property’s routing pin, which is exactly why the GPS column on the Properties page is worth keeping clean. A property with no pin cannot be placed in an optimized order.

Optimize first, then hand-adjust for the constraints only you know about. That gets you a sensible baseline without fighting the tool.

4 Tap into a job

Tapping any stop opens that job’s detail, so you can check notes, see the property, or make a change without leaving the app.

The habit worth building

Open Route, tap Optimize, drag the two or three stops that have real constraints, then go. Thirty seconds, and the crew drives a sensible day instead of criss-crossing town.

For the office-side version of this with drive time and distance figures, see how to optimize your route.
