How to take quote requests online

Turn on your Request a quote page in ClippingCash, share the link, and work the Quote requests inbox: make a request a customer and start the quote, or dismiss it. Customers also get a personal referral link.

Watch it

Someone sees your truck, or your Facebook page, and wants a price. A Request a quote page gives them a place to send their name, address and what they need, without you playing phone tag. Their request lands in an inbox. It does not become a customer until you say so.

The page is off until you turn it on. Until then, anyone who opens the link is told you are not taking online requests.

The owner or an admin does this. Open Company info at app.clippingcash.com/company-info. Scroll to the Request a quote page card and switch on Take quote requests online.

You can also reach this card from Settings, under Request a quote page, or from the Request a quote page settings link at the top of the Quote requests inbox (owners and admins see that link; office workers see the inbox only).

Your link is shown right under the switch, in the form yourcompany.clippingcash.com/quote, with a Copy link button and a Share button. Where the browser has a share sheet, as on most phones, Share opens it so you can send the link straight to a text, Facebook or email; anywhere else it copies the link. Put it on your Facebook page, in a text, or on your truck sign. The switch also turns it off again.

2 What a customer sees

The page carries your company name, logo and brand color. The customer fills in:

  • their name and a phone number or an email, at least one of the two,
  • the street address, with city, state and ZIP,
  • the services they want, from your list, if any,
  • anything you should know, in a note,
  • and, if they gave a phone number, an optional box agreeing that you may text them about the request.

Nothing is sent to the customer when they submit. They see a thank-you, and you follow up yourself. You get an email, and a push to the phones signed in to the owner app.

3 Work the Quote requests inbox

Open Quote requests under Sales in the left menu. Owners, admins and office workers can see it. It has three tabs, each with a count: New, Converted and Dismissed.

Each request shows the name, when it came in, phone and email, the address, the services picked and the note. A phone number marked (agreed to texts) means the customer ticked the box.

  • Click Make customer + quote to open the Add customer form, already filled in from the request. Check it, save it, and you land on a new quote for that customer. The request moves to Converted, with an Open customer link.
  • A request a customer sent from their customer portal is marked From portal and can carry up to 5 photos; click a thumbnail for the full picture. The customer already exists, so the button is Make quote, which starts a quote for that customer and property. Portal requests come in whether or not your public Request a quote page is on.
  • Click Dismiss for spam or a request you will not take. It moves to Dismissed, and is deleted 180 days later.

A request that is already converted or dismissed cannot be acted on twice. Each tab shows the 200 most recent requests.

Once the page is on, open any customer and click Copy referral link. That link goes to the same Request a quote page, and a request that comes through it is marked Referred by that customer. It shows as a tag on the request, and the customer you make from it keeps the same Referred by, so the referrer’s page and the Reports referrals list pick it up.

If an old link is going around where you do not want it, click Replace link. The old one stops crediting that customer.

If you have the customer portal, customers see a Refer a friend card there with their own link to copy or share. It only shows while your Request a quote page is on.

ClippingCash records who referred whom. It does not give out credits or rewards for you, so any thank-you is yours to give.
