This Privacy Policy explains how ClippingCash LLC (“ClippingCash,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our platform, websites, and apps (the “Service”). It is part of our Terms of Service.
A note on roles: ClippingCash is built for lawn care operators. When you run your business on ClippingCash, you enter information about your own customers. You control that information, and you are responsible for handling it lawfully and for telling your customers how you use it. We process it on your behalf to provide the Service.
Information We Collect
Account and business information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email, mobile phone number, business details, and login credentials, plus the plan you choose.
Your customers’ information that you enter. To run jobs and billing, you enter information about your customers, such as their name, service address, city, ZIP, phone number, email, and notes. You provide this, and you are responsible for having the right to use it.
Job, property, and schedule data. Records of quotes, jobs, schedules, invoices, payments, properties, and service history.
Photos and location data. If you use job photos, those photos may include location information (GPS coordinates) and a stamp showing the time, GPS location, and address where the photo was taken. Properties can also have a GPS pin. See the Location Data section below.
Payment information. Payments and payouts are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We store only Stripe identifiers and limited, non-sensitive details such as the last four digits and expiration of a card.
Technical information. To operate and secure the Service, we collect limited technical data such as device information, push-notification tokens, and log data.
Mobile and SMS Messaging
ClippingCash sends text messages (SMS/MMS) in two ways: account and service notifications to you, and appointment, scheduling, quote, and invoice messages that operators send to their own customers through the Service.
When you or a customer provide a mobile number and opt in to text messages, we collect the mobile number and a record of that consent (the date, time, and how consent was given). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We will not share your mobile opt-in or SMS consent with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing the messaging service. We share mobile information only with the service providers that help us deliver text messages (see How We Share Information below), and only as needed to send the messages you or your customers have opted in to receive.
Location Data
ClippingCash collects location information only at the moment you take an action, not in the background:
- When a worker takes a job photo, the app may capture the device’s GPS location to add a proof-of-service stamp (time, GPS, and address) to that photo.
- When you set a property’s location, you place or adjust a GPS pin.
- When an address is entered, we convert it to map coordinates (geocoding) so jobs can be mapped and routed.
The worker app does not track or store location in the background. You can control location access through your device’s permission settings, though some features (like geotagged photos) will not work without it.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and operate the Service, including to: create and manage accounts, schedule and route jobs, send invoices and process payments and payouts, send text messages and emails that you initiate to your customers, send you account and service notifications, provide support, keep the Service secure, and meet legal obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers (“subprocessors”) that help us run core parts of the Service, and only as needed to provide it:
- Stripe — payment processing, payouts to you, and subscription billing.
- Telnyx — sending and receiving the text messages (SMS/MMS) you initiate.
- Resend — sending transactional and account emails.
- Mapbox and Google Maps Platform — address lookup, geocoding, and mapping. Customer addresses may be sent to these providers to convert them to map coordinates.
- DigitalOcean — cloud hosting, including DigitalOcean Spaces for storing files such as job photos, PDFs, and logos.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivering push notifications to the mobile apps.
- QuickBooks Online (Intuit) and Xero — optional accounting sync. These only receive data (such as customers and invoices) if you choose to connect your accounting software.
These providers include the phone companies and messaging platforms that help us deliver text messages. As stated above, mobile information and SMS consent are never shared with any third party for promotional or marketing purposes.
We may also share information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights and safety of people and our Service, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.
Data Security
We use modern technical and operational safeguards designed to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain information while your account is active and for a limited period after cancellation as needed for operational, legal, backup, and recovery purposes, after which we delete or anonymize it.
Your Rights
You can request to access, correct, export, or delete your information, subject to legal and operational limits. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If your request concerns information about one of an operator’s customers, we may direct the request to the operator who controls that data.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Policy with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
